Care of Alcohol Ink Products

When it comes to creating stunning pieces of art with vibrant colors, alcohol ink is a popular choice for many artists, one of the reasons I love to work with it is because of it's inherent translucency, making it perfect for my art pieces, especially the "Light within" series.   The use of alcohol ink can result in beautiful, eye-catching designs that truly stand out. However, to ensure that your alcohol ink art remains vibrant and beautiful for years to come, it's important to take the necessary steps to protect it.

Why UV Protection is Important

Many of my products utilize alcohol ink to achieve those amazing colors and fluid movement. To protect each piece and ensure long-lasting enjoyment, I use high-quality UV resistant resin or a high-quality UV resistant spray sealer, depending on the piece. While these measures provide a great level of protection, there are additional steps you can take at home to further safeguard your art.

Avoiding Direct Sunlight

Alcohol ink vibrancy is highly susceptible to UV light, which can cause colors to fade over time. To prevent this, it's recommended to display your art piece in a location that is not exposed to direct sunlight. By keeping your alcohol ink art out of direct sunlight, you can help preserve the vibrancy of the colors for years to come.

Proper Cleaning Techniques

To clean your art piece, simply use a gentle wipe down with a damp cloth. Avoid using alcohol-based products, as these can damage the colors. Instead, opt for plain water to gently clean the surface. Additionally, you can brush off any dust that may accumulate on the piece to keep it looking its best.

By following these simple tips for protecting your alcohol ink art, you can ensure that your pieces retain their vibrant colors and beauty for years to come. With the right care and attention, your alcohol ink art can continue to bring joy and inspiration for a long time.

Resin covered glass-It's still Fragile

While many pieces are resin covered, please note that there may be a glass base underneath which can break if dropped. Please handle with care as the art piece, although durable, is still somewhat fragile.
